Have you ever looked at a dog breed and were captivated by their appearance? Well this one, the Barbet, pronounced (Bar-Bay), is as bohemian looking as it gets.
After over a decade of work from the Barbet Club of America, the Barbet breed was accepted by the American Kennel Club (AKC) in January 2020 to the sporting group.
The Barbet is a water dog from France. The males can get up to 65 pounds, while the female ranges in the 40 to 50 pound area. They are usually all black or all brown, with some having white markings. Their coats are long and full of curls.
Since they are similar to the Poodle breeds, there is a tendency to have hip dysplasia. Checking their pedigree background when purchasing your Barbet can help alleviate some future health issues.
Well, if you are looking for an intelligent, family loving joyful bundle of curls, that looks like they should be at a Woodstock music festival, this is the dog for you.
