Despite their massive size and weight, the Alabai is safe and protective with children and other small animals, while being gentle and loving with all your family members. Their size should not be a deterrent when deciding if the Central Asian Shepherd is the right dog breed for your family. With that being said, these dogs do need plenty of open space to track and patrol their territory, this will enable the Alabai to burn off energy and allow for much needed exercise.
